It was discussed and decided that the price of Gatorade will be raised from $1.50 to $2.00 for the winter basketball concession. This price is in line with what Wrestling and Swimming sells Gatorade for.
MEN’S BASEBALL: Fundraising request for annual golf tournament was presented. The event will be held at Timberlin on May 2 (rain date of May 9). T-sponsors will be solicited beginning in February/March. A time line for raising funds will be presented at the next Boosters meeting by D. Dellaquila. Shelia King confirmed that medicine balls were purchased (approval given at last meeting) and have been shipped. She assured Boosters that balls would be stored with safekeeping in mind. Boosters were asked to spread the word that this course was available to BHS students preparing for the SAT’s. It was noted that the last team to win a state championship prior to Men’s Football winning in 2009 (Men’s Basketball) purchased rings for the team/coaches that were paid for by the parents of the team members. At this time, there has been no official request from Men’s Football upon Boosters to fund any type of purchase to recognize the Men’s Football State Championship designation. A vote was taken to adopt the Receipts and Expenditures Policy, as was presented at the December 7, 2009 Boosters Meeting. The policy was approved. Mr. George Synnott attended the Booster meeting to discuss the administration’s views on “Splinter Groups” that have purportedly been formed to raise monies to purchase rings for the Berlin High School Men’s Football team following the teams State Championship win. Mr. Synnott stated that the administration does not approve of these type of groups and these groups do not have permission from the administration to advertise using the Next Meeting: Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the BHS Amphitheater Secretary The following “Friends Of” representatives were in attendance: Women’s: Soccer, Tennis, Cheerleading, Golf, Basketball, Softball, Lacrosse, Cross-Country, Track, Volleyball, Unified.
