Redcoats Close out Regular Season with Win over Morgan

By webmaster - Posted on 15 May 2008

The Runnin' Redcoats finished the season on a high note with a victory and two well earned state qualifications.  Senior Bobby Salerno cleared 5-8 in the high jump, and Junior Justin Ronciaoli broke 4:44 in the 1600, to  join Mark Jolley, Nick DeLoia and the 4 x 100 m relay team on the list of State Class Meet Qualifiers.  Both Salerno and Ronciaoli have been working towards this goal all season, and met it on the last regular season meet of the year.   Both recently  made some minor adjustments to their strategy or technique that accounted for the improvements.  Other notable performances were turned in by Dan Erickson in the 300 hurdles (46.3),  Jared Breindel in the 110 hurdles (18.4), Pat King in the 400 (55.1)  and Ian VanderGulik in the Long Jump (18-0.5).

For some, this was the last meet of the season and for others the beginning of the second season.  Congratulations to all of our Seniors who participated in their last High School Dual meet today:  Tom Quinn, Pat King, Bobby Salerno, Dave Veronesi, Dan Erickson.

The team's final record stands at 3-9 overall, and 1-9 in the Northwest Conference.

The Redcoats are in action next at the Northwest Conference Championships at RHAM HS on Wed. May 21.  The meet is slated to begin at 2:00 PM .
